Arthur Labao

Arthur Labao, 66, of Middletown passed away on March 27, 2024, at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Gemma (Balzano) Labao.  

Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of Sophia (Aguiar) Labao and the late Joseph Labao. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Kristina Labao of Bristol and grandchildren Sophia Dias and Christopher Roffo Jr.  He was the brother of Susan Labao, Paula Labao and her husband John Browning and the late Marylu Labao and Joseph Labao.

Arthur was educated in Bristol and self-employed as a painter for 45 years.  He was a member of the Rhode Island National Guard for 23 years. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing, gardening, watching football, and most of all, he enjoyed a good time with family and friends.

Calling hours will be held Monday, April 1st, 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter RI.
