Bessie Simas

Bessie (May) Simas, 90, formerly of Perry Street, passed away on March 26, 2024, at home.  She was the wife of the late Horace J. Simas.

Born in Bradford, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Mudd) May. She is survived by: her sons Gary (Janet) Simas of Johnston and Kevin (Kathleen) Simas of Providence; grandchildren Bret Simas, Brooke Simas, Blaire Simas, and Derek Simas; nieces and nephews Malcolm, Sally, and Rosie; her brother Ronny (Christine) May of England; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Tsoumakas.

Mrs. Simas was educated in England. She was a homemaker and a dedicated parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church.

Her funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2nd, 9 – 10:30 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
