Fernanda (Moura) Leal

Fernanda (Moura) Leal, 92, passed away on May 13, 2018 at Silver Creek Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Manuel Pereira Leal.

Born in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Fernando and Maria Deodata (Taveira) Moura. She is survived by her children Maria Abreu and her husband Raul, Manuel Leal and his wife Helen; grandchildren Alexandra Abreu, Olivia Abreu, Marina Abreu, Laura Leal and great grandson Noah Baptista. She was the sister of the late Alvaro Moura, Mario Moura, Norberto Moura, Natalia Moura and Olga Moura

Mrs. Leal was educated in Portugal where she was employed as a telephone operator. After emigrating to the United States, she worked as a machine operator for American Tourister for 20 years before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
