Humberto Horta, 89, formerly of Bristol, who had been residing in Palm Coast, Florida for the past 4 years, passed away on October 22, 2019 at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was the husband of the late Madeline (Neves) Horta.
Born in St. Michael, Azores he was the son of the late Jose and Rose (DaSilva) Horta. He is survived by his children Doreen Sousa of Palm Coast, FL, Joseph Horta of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Nancy Horta of Warwick, RI and son-in-law Michael Baker of Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was the grandfather of Kerry Sousa, Joseph Sousa, David Horta Jr, Jason Horta and Amy Gomes and great grandfather of Madison Sousa, Mason Sousa, Nigel Gomes, Olivia Horta and Aubrey Horta. He was the father of the late David Horta.
Mr. Horta was employed by Royal Diversified for 28 years retiring at the age of 85. He was the last living retiree of Carr Fulflex where he worked for 30 years.
His funeral services will be held Monday, October 28th, 9 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
