Lucy M. (Cabral) Bernardo

Lucy M. (Cabral) Bernardo passed away on April 15, 2019 at Phillip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late John M. Bernardo.

Born in Warren, RI, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Adeline (Paiva) Cabral.  She is survived by her children Patricia Souto and her husband Joseph of Bridgewater MA, Paula Andreasen of East Providence, Lois Van Marter and her husband Wayne of Warren; grandchildren Stephen Souto, Andrea Cottreau, Aaron Souto, Jill Andreasen, Blair Andreasen, Cory Andreasen, Cameron Van Marter, Brett Van Marter, and  great grandchildren Ava Cottreau,  Jonathan Cottreau, Madelyn Cottreau, Sarah Souto, and Benjamin Souto.  She was the sister of the late Joseph Cabral, Frank Cabral, Charles Cabral, Mary Raposa, Gladys Cardoza, Beatrice Amaral and Arlene Arruda.  

Lucy was educated in Warren and employed by the former Smith’s, Converse and PF industries for 31 years before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Wednesday April 24th 9 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 141 State Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
