Maria Jose (Cordeiro) Medeiros, 86, of Cooke Street passed away on March 18, 2018 at Charlesgate Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Jose Pedro Medeiros.

Born in Lomba da Maia, St. Michael, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Ermelinda (DaPonte) Cordeiro do Rego. She was the mother of Cecilia Medeiros of Providence and Joseph Medeiros of Bristol and sister of the late Manuel Cordeiro, Jose Rego, Jacinto Cordeiro, Maria Jose Rego, Agueda Rebello Leite, Nicolau Cordeiro and Emerenciana Raposo.

Maria Jose was educated in Portugal and employed by Carr-Fulflex, Converse, Coro and RJ Manufacturing before retiring. She enjoyed sharing her crocheting, cooking and baking skills with friends and family. During her lifetime, she also helped foster many animals in need of care.

In honoring Maria Jose's wishes, her funeral services were private.
