Maria "Guida" Margarida Moniz

Maria "Guida" Margarida Moniz, 65, of Bradford Street, passed away on March 29, 2019 at Rhode Island  Hospital. Born in Ribeira das Tainhas, Villa Franca do Campo, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria de Natividade (Sociedade) Moniz. She was the sister of Maria Isabel Moniz of Bristol, Antonio (Teresa) Moniz of Toronto, Canada, Conceicao (Gilberto) Andrade of Bristol and Jose Moniz of Bristol.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews Linda Sousa, Maria Natividade Tavares, Flavio Moniz, Joanne (Amos) Pires, Debra (Joey) Moniz, Fabio Moniz and great nephews and nieces Gabriella Pires, Amos Pires III, Lillian Svendsen, Scott Sousa, Kayla Sousa, Tyler Sousa, Victoria Tavares, Makayla Tavares, Kathleen Moniz, Linda Moniz and  Lucianne Moniz.

Guida was educated in Portugal and employed by Victoria Creations and Jade Plastic before retiring.  She was a faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church.

Calling hours are held Wednesday, April 3rd, 8 – 10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
