Veronica Mary (Lima) Dionne, 86, formerly of Cole Street and High Street, passed away on March 1, 2019 at Roger Williams Hospital. She was the wife of the late Henry Joseph Dionne.
Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary(Pacheco) Lima. She is survived by her children Denise Dionne and her husband Richard DeLima of Rumford, Diedre Mc Millan and her husband William of Warren, Doreen Manchester and her husband Mark of Bristol and Dorinda Bailey of Wrentham MA; grandchildren John Henri Dionne, Melinda Groff, Edward Henry Groff, William K. McMillan IV, Dionne Manchester, Mariel Manchester and Zackery James Bailey; and great grandchildren John Henri Dionne, Jr., Lyla Yvonne Dionne, Jason Richard Dionne, Cole Kugler, Robert Earl Groff, Alexandra Paige Groff, Addison Eileen McMillan, Jose Garcia, and Dylan Manchester. She was preceded in death by her brother the late George C. Lima.
Mrs. Dionne was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1952 and employed as a Floor Supervisor for Carol Cable for 25 years before retiring. She volunteered as a Foster Grandmother for the Bristol School Department and was a former member of the Holy Rosary Sodality at St. Elizabeth's Church. She was also a former member of the American Legion Kearney Post #6, formerly on Franklin Street, serving as past president of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and was involved in "Girls State". Veronica was a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center Choir and member and former secretary at the Bristol Senior Center.
Calling hours are Wednesday, March 6th from 7:30 - 9:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will be private.
