Virginia Elaine (Serpa) Hurd

Virginia Elaine (Serpa) Hurd, 68, of Richmond Street passed away on May 13, 2019 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospital.  She was the wife of Robert Hurd.  

Born in Fall River MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Gaffney) Serpa.  She was the stepmother of Jason Brito of North Carolina and Joshua Hurd of Cumberland and step-grandmother of Nicholas Brito, Victoria Brito, Brady Brito, Kyle Hurd and Brendan Hurd.  She was the sister of James Serpa, Russell Serpa and the late Joseph Serpa.

Virginia was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy Bay View and received her Bachelor’s Degree from American International College.  She earned a Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College and was employed as the office manager for J.P. Serpa Creamery.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 7th, 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Celebration of Life, 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 339 Hope Street. Burial will be private.
