Adelaida M. Mendez, 88, of Providence, passed away on February 14, 2023 at Silver Creek Manor.

Ms. Mendez was born in Puerto Rico. She is survived by her children: William (Judy) Mendez of New York, Miguel Mendez of New York, and Rosario Mendez of Providence; grandchildren: Doreen, Katie, David, Raymond, Juan, Diana, Miguel, Lisette, Chelsea, Sonia, Sandra, and Gina; and many great-great grandchildren. Ms. Mendez was predeceased by her daughter Dianna Mendez and grandson Miguel Mendez.

Ms. Mendez was educated in Puerto Rico and self-employed as a taxi driver for many years before retiring. 

Calling hours will be held Friday, February 17, 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street.
