Adriano F. Azevedo, 78, of Sherry Avenue, passed away on May 2, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Fernanda (Dias) Azevedo.
Born in Flores, Azores, he was the son of the late Angelo and Evarista (de Freitas) Azevedo. In addition to his wife Fernanda, he is survived by: his children Anabela Azevedo of Bristol, Adriene (Steven) Cardoso of Swansea, and Angelo (Lindsay) Azevedo of Warren; grandchildren Mikayla, Alexis (Hayley), and Collin; great grandchildren Riley and Cooper; nephew Carlos (Elsa) Dias of East Providence; and siblings Vasco Eduíno de Freitas of Florida, Maria Odete de Freitas Azevedo Camara of Canada, Jose Antonio de Freitas Azevedo of Portugal, and Luis de Freitas Azevedo of Portugal.
He was predeceased in death by his siblings Maria de Fatima de Freitas, Jose Horàcio de Freitas, and Antonio Orlando de Freitas Azevedo.
Mr. Azevedo was educated in Portugal. He was a veteran of the Portuguese army. He was employed by Brito and then East Bay Construction for 30 years before retiring. He loved his Soccer Club, Sporting CP, in addition to gardening, fishing, and making model matchstick boats; he also loved running and taking care of his farm animals.
His funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
