Alan Garcia

Alan R. Garcia, 72, of King Street, passed away on June 11, 2024, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of JoAnn (Vargas) Garcia.

Born in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of the late Manuel and Virginia (Ferreira) Garcia. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: daughters Holly Garcia of Bristol, and Loral Garcia of Bristol; grandchildren Bryonna Garcia, Jaelyn Garcia, and Alexandrea Quintal of Bristol; and sister Mary Garcia of Westport, MA. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, whom he all loved.

He was predeceased by his brothers: John Garcia and Manuel Garcia.

Mr. Garcia attended Bristol schools before enlisting in the National Guard for seven years. He was employed by Gripnail for over 40 years. He was an avid Patriots fan.

His funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17th, 10 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.Calling hours are Sunday, 4 – 7 PM.
