Alfred Charbonneau, 89, of Monterey Drive, passed away on October 29, 2025, at Orchard View Manor. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He took up residence in a Maher group home on 1/5/1981 at the age of 45. Alfred has always been young at heart. Very spry and active. Always one to do everything for himself. He hated staff intervention if he was doing something he could do independently.

Alfred enjoyed the simple things in life. A ride to Colt State Park to watch the seagulls, McDonald’s for a soda and mashed potatoes! Alfred was always set in his ways. This resulted in a closet full of pants and shirts that were all the same color and style. And Sweaters, Alfred loved to wear sweaters no matter the season. Alfred would always greet friends with a big smile. You really felt welcomed. When he felt it was time for you to leave, he would pack up your things and send you on your way, even if you were not ready to go!

Alfred had an outstanding sense of humor! He was just fun to be around. You never knew what he was going to say! He loved to tease everyone and enjoyed being teased. Alfred was kind and empathetic. If Alfred made up his mind there was no changing it. He did what he wanted to, when he wanted to do it! Alfred truly loved his staff. He knew he could always count on them to love, support and assist him when needed. Alfred repaid that devotion with a special kind of love.

Alfred is survived by his caretakers: Michael Moniz, Jenee Olson, Edith Chaves, Bernie Kelley and Cindie Schiedler.

His funeral services are pending.
