Angelina C. DuPont, 94 passed away on April 2, 2024, at her son’s home in Cranston in the loving care of her family. She was the wife of the late George M. DuPont.
Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Carmello and Josephine (Barbuscio) Preite. Angie is survived by her children, George DuPont and his wife Lina of Cranston, and Cynthia DuPont of Bristol; grandchildren Allyson DuPont of Cranston, Amy DuPont-Gosselin and her husband William of Warwick, Laura DuPont of Johnston, Scott DuPont and his partner James Landry of East Providence, and Alexander Franqui of East Greenwich. She was the sister of Yolanda Martino of Johnston, Vicki LaMoia of Florida, Theresa Sousa of Bristol, and Michael Preite and his wife Lee of California. Angie was the sister of the late Robert Pratt, Russell Preite, Louis Preite, Augustine Preite, Rose Drapeau, Josephine L’Europa and Edith Amitrano.
Mrs. DuPont was educated in East Providence and employed by Taylor Box of Warren for 25 years, as well as RI Lace works of Barrington before retiring. Angie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. She loved shopping, especially at Kohl’s, and taking scenic drives to get ice cream sundaes at The Creamery. Angie was an avid reader, crossword puzzle master, and undefeated scrabble player. She enjoyed sitting outside and taking walks around the Benjamin Church Manor grounds.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 6th, 9 – 10:30 AM at the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
