Anthony J. Sousa, Jr.

Anthony J. Sousa, Jr., 94, formerly of Metacom Avenue Bristol, RI, passed away on February 19, 2025, at Grace Barker Health. He was the husband of the late Frances A. (Goulart) Sousa. 

Born in Bristol, RI, he was the son of Antonio J. and Maria dos Anjos (Costa) Sousa. Anthony is survived by his daughter Laurie E. D’Arcangelo of Bristol; grandchildren: Lisa Marie (Richard), Silvia of Rehoboth, MA, Michelle Lee Sousa of Bristol, and Adam D’Arcangelo of England, UK; great-granddaughter Emilia Everly-Anne; nieces and nephews; and sister Juliette (Joseph) Lima of Bristol.

Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Alfred Sousa of Bristol, RI. 

He was the owner of Hi-Way Barber Shop for 30 years, and a member of the Rhode Island National Guard. Anthony loved social dancing and square dancing with his wife and friends. He enjoyed bowling with his league and playing golf. Anthony always told the best stories! 

Anthony's funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, St. Elizabeth’s Church at 11 AM, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow at the North Burial Ground.
