Antonino Sousa Chaves Obituary

Antonino Sousa Chaves, 82, of Bradford Street passed away on September 29, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was the husband of Maria DosAnjos (Ribeiro) Chaves.  


Born in Villa Franca do Campo, St. Michael, Azores, he was son of the late Urbano and Cecilia (deSousa) Chaves.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Francisco Chaves and his wife Edith; Antonio Chaves and his wife Maggie; Virginio Chaves; Norberto Chaves and his wife Sheryl; Margarida Chaves and Almerinda Parillo and her husband Stephen.  He was the grandfather of Angela Chaves, Christopher Chaves, Jared Chaves, Leeana Chaves, Emily Chaves, Aubrey Chaves, Crystal Zina, Tiiffany Tatro, Joseph Costa, Stephen Parillo and great grandfather of Chelsea, Mitchell, Logan, Kayleigh, Carson, Julian, Melody, David and Payton.  He was the brother of Manuel Chaves, Esmeralda Parece and the late Jose Chaves.


Mr. Chaves was employed by Pearson Yachts and Cove Haven Marina before retiring. 


His funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2nd, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral, Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
