Armanda Maria (Labao) Silveira, 81, of Hopeworth Avenue passed away on January 18, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Joseph Uriel Silveira for 62 years.
Born in Pico de Pedra, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Alves) Labao. In addition to her loving and devoted husband, she is survived by her daughter Donna Cabral and her husband Edward of Bristol; and her granddaughters: Lauren Cabral and her husband Nicholas DeNardo of Bristol; and Audrey Cabral of Bristol. She was the sister of Margarida Travassos (the late Oliver) of Bristol and the late Albano Labao and Dennis Labao.
Armanda was educated in Portugal and employed by Priscilla Sportswear and American Tourister before retiring. She was a former member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth's Church. She enjoyed spending time at home which she lovingly cared for and beautifully decorated. Her hobbies included needlepoint, crochet, watching mysteries on television and spending time with her husband and their cat. Armanda was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed her conversations with her sister Guida. Everyone who met her described her as a beautiful and sweet woman with a pretty smile and gentle spirit.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 25th, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, calling hours are respectfully omitted.
