Barbara Sustakowsky

Barbara Sustakowsky, 84, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, with her husband of 68 years by her side.

Barbara was born in Bristol, Rhode Island on January 28, 1941, to the late Carmine Aquilino and Mary (Medeiros) Aquilino. She attended Colt Memorial High School and went on to work at the Crestwood Nursing Home in Bristol for 34 years, where she enjoyed working with the elderly.

She enjoyed doing cross-stitch, reading, baking, and having a spotless house. Barbara was also known around the house as being a weather watcher. Her children called her the “John Ghiorsi” of Bristol. Barbara suffered many years from Parkinson's Disease.

She leaves behind her loving husband Stanley, sons Steven (late Ann Lee Tattrie) and Kevin (Christine Zompa), along with grandchildren Shawn Sustakowsky and Sarah Sustakowsky.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 29, 10 – 11 AM at George C. Lima Funeral Home, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
