Bernadete M. Pires

Bernadete M. (Ferreira) Pires, 88, of Pawtucket, passed away on March 16, 2026, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center.

Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Luis and Lucinda (Toste) Mendez. She is survived by her daughters: Estelle Creel of Attleboro, MA, Lucinda (John Walton) Ribeiro of Snellville, GA, and Mafalda (Craig) Mann of Pawtucket; grandchildren: Tishana Mann and Craig Mann, Jr.; and great-grandchildren: Avyana Gray and Isaac Mann.

She was predeceased by: her son Januario L. Pires; and granddaughter Samantha A. Creel.

Mrs. Pires was educated in Portugal. She was employed by R.J. Jewelry as a quality-control inspector for 14 years before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 9 - 11 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a prayer service celebrated at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
