Cecilia (Estrella) Wilson

Cecilia (Estrella) Wilson, 82, of Cole Street, passed away on September 11, 2022 at Newport Hospital.  She was the wife of James Robert Wilson.  

 Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Annibal and Jessie (Teixeira) Estrella.  She is survived by her son James Wilson Jr. and his wife Deana and was the mother of the late Donna Geary. She was the grandmother of James Wilson III, Ryan Wilson, Matthew Wilson, James Geary, Jason Geary and Sarah Geary and the great grandmother of Kinsley Wilson, Kane Wilson and Nash Wilson.  She is also survived by her sister Leonora Rogers; nephew Dan Rogers; niece Nancy Bush and great nieces Kristen Rogers, Julie Rogers and Becky Bush.

 Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Rhode Island College.  She was employed as a teacher by the Bristol School Department for 35 years before retiring. She was a member of the National Education Association as well as the Rhode Island Education Association.  Mrs. Wilson was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church where she served as a lector and taught CCD for 15 years.  She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and Holy Ghost Committee.

 Her funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.
