Charles Louis Wilson

Pawtucket - Charles Louis Wilson, 94, of Pawtucket, RI died peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 with his family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine (Figuerado) Wilson with whom he shared 61 of the best years of his life.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, Charles was the son of John and Laura (Reagan) Wilson.  He was a WWII combat veteran who served in the Pacific.  Charles was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal. He returned to Pawtucket to raise his family and enjoyed many family outings to Goddard Park and Hampton Beach. NH. He devoted his life to his wife and children. He loved to make people laugh and will be deeply missed. He was always quick to make friends and every nurse’s favorite patient.   He was an avid cribbage player and liked to hide aces.  He was employed by Lincoln Dimensional for 30 years and knew how to operate every piece of machinery. After leaving work at 60 years of age, he was able to spend every day traveling with Catherine to their bargin basement diners and shops. After the loss of Catherine, he found the strength to live with a broken heart and, given she would not fly, was ultimately able to experience adventures to the end of his life. Charlie was honored to spend the last 9 months of his life at the Rhode Island Veterans Home. They treated him like a King.

Charles is survived by his daughter Sandra Wilson Vanier and her husband Andrew of Portsmouth, RI;  son David M Wilson of Pawtucket, RI; brother Louis Wilson of Hemet, California;  grandchild Brian M Wilson and his wife Jenn of Lincoln, RI;  great-grandson Cooper Wilson.   He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Service with Military Honors will be in October at the Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, Rhode Island.

A celebration of life will be held next year.
