Christine Julia Vargas

Christine Julia (Lamarca) Vargas, of Warren, passed away on January 30, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Daniel A. Vargas.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Joseph and Imaculata (Coppolla) Lamarca. She is survived by her children: Daniel M. (Joanne) Vargas of West Warwick, Nancy E. (the late Anthony) Urban of Warren, and Stephen (Julie) Vargas of Bristol; she adored her grandchildren: Daniel A. Vargas, Anthony Urban II, Christian Urban, Jared Urban, Matthew Urban, Lauren Vargas-Findley, and Nichole Vargas; and seven great-grandchildren Gabrielle Fraga, Meghan Fraga, Kyle Fraga, Riley Urban, Teagan Urban, Maxwell Urban, and Elijah Urban.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Dawn Vargas Fraga. Christine was the last survivor -- of her 6 other siblings.

Christine attended Warren schools. She was employed by the Warren School Department for 10 years and was a hostess at Pini’s Island Restaurant for 20 years before retiring. She continued her love of Italian cooking well into her later years.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 8th, 11:00 AM at St. Alexander’s Church, 221 Main Street, Warren, RI 02885.
