Daniel R. Cabral, 72, formerly of Roma Street, passed away on September 10, 2026, at Dawn Hill Home.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gil and Beatrice (Ricardo) Cabral. He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Lisa) Cabral of Bristol and Kenneth (Nicole) Cabral of Portsmouth; his grandchildren, Logan, Jacoby, Bennett, Hudson, and Easton Cabral; his aunt, Florence Alpalhao of Bristol; and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary Cabral; his uncles, Morris Alpalhao and Victor Castro; and his aunt, Mary Castro.
Daniel was a graduate of Bristol High School. He worked as a truck driver for J.T. Lumber for 20 years before retiring.
Daniel loved classic cars and car shows. He took particular pride in restoring his 1967 Chevelle, spending countless hours working alongside his children and his best friend, John Brando, to bring the car back to life. He enjoyed driving the Chevelle and taking it to car shows, where he shared his appreciation for classic automobiles with others. Above all, Daniel cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He also loved dogs and, over the years, gave several rescue dogs a loving home.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 3, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel’s memory may be made to: Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter, 11 Broadcommon Road, Unit 155, Bristol, RI 02809, in recognition of the many dogs he welcomed into his life.
