Edward A. “Frenchy” Chauvin, 87, of formerly of Warren passed away peacefully on July 22, 2023, in Florida.
Born in Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Oliver and Adela (Paquette) Chauvin. After serving in the Navy, he owned and operated Frenchy’s Barbershop in downtown Bristol, RI and was known to many as “Frenchy the Singing Barber”. He was a past exalted ruler in the Bristol Elk’s, and a member of the Knight of Colombus in Florida. His love for his family superseded all his achievements in life.
Frenchy leaves behind his loving wife Rosemarie Chauvin; daughter and son Laura and Peter Chauvin from his previous marriage; stepdaughters Paulette and Michelle Amaral; grandson Timothy Meynard; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his daughter Julie (Chauvin) Meynard, and six siblings.
A memorial service will be held at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Avenue, on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 10AM.
