Edwin A. McClure, Jr., (Bud), 91, of Warren, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Dolores N. (Palumbo) McClure.
Born in Newport, he was the son of Edwin A. and Blanche A. (Butler) McClure. He is survived by: his children Barbara (Alan) Palumbo of Bristol, Kerri (James) Sousa of Warren, Norman (Barbara) Boudreau of Florida, Pamela (Alfred) Paulin of Warren, Jay Boudreau of Warwick, Dennis (Donna) Boudreau of Florida; and daughter-in-law Karen Boudreau of Taunton, MA. He was the proud Poppa to Bryan, Melanie, Robyn, Nicole, Jeffrey, Samantha (Ryan), Amber, Emily, Sean, Katherine and Christian. Great Grandfather to Brianna and Adam.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sons Richard Boudreau and Bradley Boudreau; and sisters Frances “Pat” Aiello and Nancy Rego.
Bud was a 1951 graduate of Colt Memorial High School. He was a member of The Rhode Island National Guard for 8 years. He was later employed by Carrs/Fulflex then Converse for many years before opening Warren Paint & Wallpaper. Bud served as Cub Master in Pack 25 in Warren. He enjoyed racing pigeons and working with his hands. Bud was a 35-year Master Mason with both St. Alban’s Lodge No. 6 in Bristol and Washington Lodge No. 3 in Warren. He was a proud member of the Warren Fire Department, Rough & Ready Engine Co. 5, taking on the role of Santa for their annual children’s party for many years. And perhaps one of his most beloved roles was when he operated an ice cream truck for the children in the summer!
Bud's funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 9:30 - 10:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren, RI. Burial will follow in St. Jean's Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday, 4- 7 PM.
