Elizabeth A. Canario Obituary

Elizabeth A. (Silvia) Canario, 89, of Metacom Avenue, passed away on March 20, 2026, at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank T. Canario.


Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Isabel R. (Rebello) Silvia. She is survived by her children: Adreana Canario of Bristol, John (Kim) Canario of Washington, and Elizabeth (Harold) Hunt of Bristol; grandchildren: Christopher, Zachary, Benjamin, Joshua Hunt, and Sarah Hunt; and great-grandchildren: Madeline, Kimberly, Hayden, and Alexander; and siblings: Alice St. John of East Providence, and John (Ann) Silvia of Bristol.


She was predeceased by her siblings: Antonio Silvia and Cecilia Maney.


Mrs. Canario was employed by numerous companies, including the Well Made Dress Factory in Warren, Rhode Island, before retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church.


Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 9 – 9:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
