Elizabeth Shirley (Coelho) Waters, 88, of Bristol, RI, passed away on May 19, 2026.
Born in Rehoboth, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Alves) Coelho. She is survived by her children James (Sandy) Waters of Barrington, RI, Scott (Sandra) Waters of Montana, and Suzanne Follett of Swansea; Mass, grandchildren: Kristina (Justin) Ward, James S. (Haley) Waters, Alyssa Waters, Lyle (Victoria ) Follett, and Sydney Follett; Bobby Maitland and Nicole Maitland, great-grandsons James R. Waters; Brandon Gray, Trevor Gray and Beckham, and brother, Raymond Coelho of East Providence, RI.
She was predeceased by her daughter Donna (Danny) Maitland; son-in-law Randy Follett; and siblings: Anthony Coite, Robert Coelho, Joseph Coelho, and Elsie Avila.
Shirley was a strong and loving Mother, who loved her family unconditionally. She was kind and loyal. Shirley was also known as the dessert lady, and her famous apple pie and cinnamon twist were enjoyed by all. She lived in Bristol RI for most of her life and loved celebrating the 4th of July parade with her family. She was an avid Red Sox Fan. Shirley was the rock of our family and will be greatly missed.
Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 9 – 9:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
