Evelyn Botelho Obituary

Evelyn (Correira) Botelho, 93, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on November 1, 2025, at Saint Elizabeth’s Home, surrounded by her devoted family. She was welcomed home into the arms of her late husband, Jerry Botelho, and the Lord. Evelyn was the undeniable heart of her family, a woman defined by her sweet nature, unconditional love, and the joy she found in bringing everyone together.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Manuel and Josephine (Almeida) Correira. She dedicated her life to creating a warm, vibrant home where everybody felt welcomed. Her legacy is one of boundless love and unforgettable family gatherings, which she hosted countless times throughout the years, filling her home with laughter, great food, and fond memories that will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her children: Pamela (Mark) Gilbert of Boones Mill, VA, Paula (James) Malm of East Greenwich, and Gerald (Torie) Botelho of Cranston; grandchildren: Bruce Gilbert, Rachel (Manu) Gunter, Jenna (Erik) Smith, Ian (Andrew Johnson) Malm, Jessica (Matthew) Houston, and Alyssa (Austin) Graham. Evelyn was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren who brought tremendous light to her later years: Sagan Bauer, Sadie Smith, Camden Smith, Brooks Smith, Grady Houston, Emme Houston, Abram Houston, and Vivienne Graham.

She was predeceased by her beloved grandson: Jeremy Gilbert; and her brothers: Frederick Correira and Manuel Correira.

Mrs. Botelho was a 1950 class graduate of Colt Memorial High School. She was employed by Premier Thread for over 20 years before retiring. Evelyn’s sweet and loving spirit was a gift to all who knew her, and though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her loving husband, Jerry.
