Frank “Moco” Silvia, 96, formerly of Herzig Street, passed away on October 7, 2024, at the Rhode Island Veterans Home. He was the husband of the late Alice (Tavares) Silvia.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel Mary (Rebello) Silvia. He is survived by: his daughter Bernadette (Bernard) Medeiros of Bristol; grandchildren Bethany (Joseph) Norris and Nicholas Medeiros; and great-grandchildren Josie Balzano and Brody Balzano.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Louis Silvia, Manuel Silvia, Mary Laramee, and Hilda DeFontes.
Mr. Silvia attended Bristol schools. He was employed by the East Providence Water & Sewer Department before retiring. An avid hunter, he cherished the tranquility of the woods and the companionship of friends on Prudence Island. If he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, he could be found playing guitar, sipping coffee with friends, or watching the boats in the harbor.
