Guilherme S. Pires, 104, of Bristol, passed away on May 1, 2025, at Grace Barker Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Maria da Conceicao (Moniz) Pires.

Born in Pico da Pedra, St. Michael, he was the son of Jose and Maria da Gloria (Soares) Pires. He is survived by his children: Eduarda Almeida of Riverside, Gorette (Daniel) Teixeira of Bristol, Mary Pires of Warren, and Paula (Roy) Bucci of Warren; daughter-in-law: Venilde Pires of Bristol; grandchildren: Dianne (Paul) Newton, Connie (Brian) Ackroyd, Jason (Elisabete) Teixeira, Camille Bucci, Amos (Joanne) Pires, Jr., Matthew Pires, Derek (Kristen) Pires, and Kevin Pires; and great-grandchildren: Alexander Newton, Meagan Newton, Jaxon Ackroyd, Harper Ackroyd, Mary Elizabeth Teixeira, Gabriella Pires, Amos Pires III, Isaiah Pires, Beau Pires.

He was predeceased by his son: Amos Pires, Sr.; and siblings: Augusto Pires, Jose Pires, Manuel Pires, and Maria Jose Pires.

Mr. Pires was educated in Portugal. He was employed first as a carpenter for Joe Almeida Construction for 12 years, then at American Tourister for 12 years before retiring.

His funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 9:30 – 10:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.
