Gwendolyn Dierickx Obituary

Gwen J. Dierickx, 82 of Barrington then Bristol, RI, peacefully passed away on July 1, 2021 after a difficult battle with kidney cancer.

Gwen was born March 21, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Ed and Helene Holm. After completing her education, she took a position with the Soil Conservation Service which moved her to Marshall, MN. It was there she met Harold Dierickx and was married the following year. She worked alongside Harold running and growing their electrical and plumbing business, until his death in 1976. She also pursued her talent for cake decorating by establishing a successful cake decorating business, while raising four children. She lived in Arizona for several years forming lasting friendships and pursuing her passion of “all things having to do with Arizona”

After spending time with her children in different states, she settled in RI where she enjoyed playing bingo and serving lunch at the local senior center, tending to her geraniums, watching “The Zoo”  and Food Network cooking shows, taking care of Peanut (Kathy’s dog) and looking for sea glass along the shore.

Gwen is survived by her children Kathy Dierickx, Bridget Anderson (husband Jason, son Harrison), Stephanie Bush (husband Greg, son Austin), Kerry Dierickx and siblings - brothers Ed Holm and Mike Holm, sister Leslie Holm and preceded in death by sister Judy Cockran.
