Idalina N. (Pissarra) Matias, 98, of Jones Avenue, passed away July 9, 2023 at home. She was the wife of the late Jose Matias Jr.
Born in Châos, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Eduarda (Pissarra) Nunes. She was the mother of Maria (Afonso) Da Silva of Bristol; grandmother of Alexandra DaSilva and Monica DaSilva and great grandmother of Cristiano Miyawaki, Daniel Correia, Thomas Correia, and Luke Correia.
Mrs. Matias was educated in Portugal and employed by Converse and Smith Manufacturing before retiring.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 18th, 9:30-10:30 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
