Ilidio de Sousa Ferreira, 88, of Fales Road, passed away on December 15, 2023. He was the husband of the late Berta da Paz (Raposo) Ferreira.
Born in Ribeira Seca, Vila Franca, São Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel Ferreira Periquito and Isabela da Sousa (Salgado) Periquito. He is survived by: his sons Joseph Ferreira, Thomas Ferreira, and Victor Ferreira; grandchildren Brianna Ferreira, Michael Ferreira Jr., Timothy Ferreira, Jacob Ferreira, Isaiah Ferreira, Abraham Ferreira, and Victor Andrade; and great grandchildren Zoie, Aaron, Remy, and Cruz. He was the brother of Urbano Periquito and Lucia Cabral.
He was predeceased by his children Geraldina Ferreira and Michael N. Ferreira, and his brothers João Periquito, Antonio Periquito, Jose Ferreira, and Manuel Periquito.
Mr. Ferreira was educated in Portugal. He was employed by Carol Cable for many years before retiring.
His funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23rd, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
