Jacinto de Almeida

Jacinto De Almeida, 92, of Villa Avenue, passed away on December 2, 2023, at home.  He was the husband of Mary Lou (Cordeiro) Almeida.    

Born in Feiteiras, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria de Gloria de Almeida.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his children Stephen (Debra) Almeida of Tiverton and Sandra (Lee) Head of Bristol; grandchildren Kristen Almeida, Stephen M. Almeida, Christopher Head, and Michael Head; great grandchildren Olivia Pimentel, Tyler Pimentel, and Finley Almeida; and great-great grandson Weston Medeiros.

He was predeceased by his siblings Maria Gloria Soares, Joao De Almeida, and Jose De Almeida.

Mr. De Almeida was educated in Portugal.  He was employed Cardi Construction for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Santo Cristo Committee of St. Elizabeth's Church, the Lincoln Club, the Banda Filarmonica de Santa Isabel, and was Man of the Year in 1989 at the Portuguese Beneficial Association Dom Luiz Filipe. Jacinto was very active within the Lincoln Club as bar manager and enjoyed playing cards and dominoes while there. He also enjoyed gardening, making wine, and helping others in his spare time.

His funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 6th, 9:30 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday, 4 – 7 PM.
