James Robert Wilson

James R. Wilson, 82, of Cole Street, passed away on May 12, 2023, at Silver Creek Manor.  He was the husband of the late Cecilia (Estrella) Wilson.  

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harold and Constance (Miller) Wilson. He is survived by his son James Wilson Jr. and his wife Deana and was the father of the late Donna Geary. He was the grandfather of James Wilson III, Ryan Wilson, Matthew Wilson, James Geary, Jason Geary and Sarah Geary and the great grandfather of Kinsley Wilson, Kane Wilson, and Nash Wilson.  

Mr. Wilson was a graduate of East Providence High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College. He was employed as a teacher for the East Providence High School for 41 years before retiring.  He was a member and past captain of the Bristol Fire Department Dreadnaught Hook, Ladder & Hose Company No. 1.

His funeral services will be held Monday, May 22nd, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.
