Jane A. (Costa) Machado, 69, of Bristol, RI, passed away after a sudden illness on September 11, 2025 at Tufts Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of over 48 years to Kenneth J. Machado.

A lifelong resident of Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Daniel P. Costa and Gilda D. (Gomes) Canario, and the daughter-in-law of the late Joseph and Alice Machado.

In addition to her husband, Jane leaves behind her two beloved sons, Kenneth J. Machado, Jr. (Meaghan) of Bristol and Ryan Machado (Ashley Taylor) of Bristol; and her adored grandchildren, Andrew and Alethea Machado, who were the light of her life.

A graduate of Bristol High School Class of 1973, Jane continued her studies at the Katharine Gibbs School in Providence. She began her career holding secretarial positions with Dixon Industries while raising her children, later joining Albin Marine in Portsmouth before retiring.

Jane’s passing came much too early, leaving behind an ache in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her faith, and her boundless generosity of spirit. She touched many lives with her kindness, compassion, and prayers. 

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 24, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
