Jean M. Vermette

Jean Vermette, 94, a lifelong resident of Bristol, died on January 17, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Norman J. Vermette and Josephine (Cleary) Vermette.

She was the sister of the late Bette Vermette. Jean graduated from Colt Memorial High School in 1943, and Rhode Island College of Education in 1953. Jean was a teacher in the Bristol School Department for 35 years. She also worked at Blithewold Mansion, Garden, and Arboretum for 13 years.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 24, 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
