She found awe and wonder in nature and great joy and love in her family and friends.
Jeanette Pivin, 86, of Bristol, passed away on December 29, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born on February 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ida (Gauthier) Pivin. She was the sister of the late John (Jack) Pivin and is survived by his wife Jeanenne of McKinney Texas. She is also survived by her niece Kelly Pivin Iacovone, her husband Daniele and their children Isabella and Julian of London England; as well as many beloved friends.
Jeanette was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1949 as well as Catholic Teachers College, the University of Notre Dame and the Hall Institute of Design and Technology. She was an educator at both St. Mathew’s School in Cranston and Salve Regina University. Jeanette worked as a psychotherapist in private practice in Providence as well as at the LaSalette Counseling Center and Interfaith Counseling Center. She was a member of the Sisters of Mercy (known as Sister Mary Ida) for thirty years from 1951 – 1981. Her interests were education, psychology and spirituality.
Her remains will be reunited with the earth in the near future per her wishes at her time in her place.
