Joao L. Faria, Jr.

Joao L. Faria, Jr., 81, of Bourne Street, passed away on July 19, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Lilliana O. (Soares) Faria.

Born in Rabo de Peixe, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao L. and Maria Resuretcão (Cabral) Faria. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: John M. (Rachel) Faria of Bristol and Paul Faria of Bristol; grandchildren: Loryn, Lily, and John; and siblings: Frank Faria of AZ, Elvira Faria of Bristol, Theresa Afonso of Bristol, Isabel Simoes of Bristol, and Sadie Mendonca of Warren.

He was predeceased by his brothers: Jose Faria and Marcelino Faria.

Mr. Faria was educated in Portugal. He was employed by Bristol Sandblasting, Royal Diversified Products, and most recently Roger Williams University before retiring. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Church.

His funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 9 – 9:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
