Joao Luis Ferreira, 73, of 30 Peckham Place, passed away on November 6, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Ambrosina Conceicao (Medeiros) Ferreira.  

Born in Cabouço Lagoa, St. Michael, Portugal he was the son of the late Luis Diogo and Lurdes (daCosta) Ferreira. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Charles Ferreira and his wife Stephanie of Bristol, and Jessica Ferreira of Bristol, and his grandchildren: Dawson Ferreira, Jacob Ferreira, Kinley Ferreira, Alex Ferreira, and Lucas Ferreira. He was the brother of Duarte Ferreira, Clara Costa, Jose Diogo and Tony Diogo.

Mr. Ferreira was educated in Portugal and employed by American Insulated Wire for 36 years before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church and a member of the Santissima Trindade. He loved his grandchildren and was an avid sports fan as well as an active member of the Don Luiz Filipe Society.

His funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
