John Nicholas Davis, beloved son of James and Virginia C. Davis, brother of Maria Kathleen Davis, and uncle to Cora Grace Davis, transitioned into the loving care, peace, and tranquility of our gracious Lord. He was born December 10, 1976, making him very proud of being a bicentennial child.
John was a graduate of Bishop Connolly High School, received an Associate’s Degree from Community College of Rhode Island, and attended Rhode Island College in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree. He was an avid reader and lover of American, Irish, and Welsh history. Genealogy was one of his favorite discussion topics. John was also comfortable speaking Portuguese as well as Spanish. He was a devoted fan of the Patriots and Yankees. As a boy, he was an all-star pitcher for Bristol Little League. He was employed as a mason by Raposa Costa Masonry.
John is survived by his uncle John Craveiro and wife Colleen, aunt Mary Craveiro, and his numerous first cousins whom he loved fiercely. He was predeceased by his uncles David Craveiro and Charles Closson, and aunt Judith Davis Closson; great nephew of Virginio Almeida and his wife Idalia; and Zulmira DeMello and her husband Adriano. He also leaves behind many cousins in Bristol and New Hampshire.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew his contagious sense of humor, quick wit and love of learning.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, September 16th, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
