Jose Fernando DaSilva, 80 of High Street passed away on October 25, 2022 at Warren Skilled Nursing. He was the husband of Mary (Travassos) DaSilva for 56 years.
Born in Capelo, Faial, he was the son of the late Jose and Francisca (Araujo) DaSilva. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Susan Bogdan and her husband Dennis of Swansea, MA, and grandchildren Karina Bogdan and Matthew Bogdan. He was the brother of Maria Fernanda Cota of Bristol and Manuel DaSilva of Capelo, Faial.
Mr. DaSilva was educated in Portugal and employed by Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics as well as Pearson Yachts before retiring. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting. He loved working in his garden and adored his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 28th, 8:30 -10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
