Jose M. Silva

Jose M. Silva, 82, of Perry Street passed away on August 25, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Maria (Pereira) Silva.

Born in Santo Amaro, Pico, Azores, he was the son of the late Amaro and Virginia (Teireira) Silva. In addition to his wife, Mr. Silva is survived by his siblings: Maria Helena (Jose) Goulart of Pico, Azores; Manuel (Estrella) Silva of Pico, Azores; and Isabel (Delmiro) Raposo of Povoação, Azores.  He was the brother of the late Filipe Silva.

Mr. Silva was educated in Portugal and was the owner and operator of Silva’s Liquors for 8 years.  He was then employed as a store manager at Ocean State Liquors for 22 years.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, August 31st, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church,  577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
