Joseph F. Lima, 92, of Gibson Road, passed away on June 9, 2025, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Juliette M. (Sousa) Lima.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of Manuel F. and Maria (Carreiro) Lima. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: James J. and Anthony J. Lima of Bristol; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings: Gilberto F. Lima (Maria Noemia), James Lima (Liduina), John C. Lima, and Mary A. (Lima) Raposa (Abilio) and nephew: Gilbert Lima, Jr.

Mr. Lima was educated in Portugal. He worked in construction and production for various local companies for many years, including as a custodian for Roger Williams University for 18 years before his retirement. Mr. Lima was a lifetime member of the Portuguese Beneficent Association Don Luis Filipe Club and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking in his spare time.

His funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 9 – 10:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
