Judith Eleanor Piotrowski

Judith Eleanor Piotrowski, 84, formerly of Connecticut and Florida passed away on October 2, 2023 at the Dawn Hill Home of Rehab & Healthcare. She was the wife of the late James M. Shonty.  

Born in Newburgh, NY she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Dorothy (Millerd) Rogers.  She graduated from the University of Bridgeport. Judy was married to the late Louis S. Piotrowski for 33 years and they lived in East Hampton, CT raising 4 daughters.  She was remarried to the late James M. Shonty and they enjoyed their retirement years together in Florida before his passing in May, 2019.  She relocated to Rhode Island to be closer to her daughters. Judy was the mother of Lisa Piotrowski, Ellen (Keith) Hendrix, Karen (Mark) Ross and Julie Piotrowski and grandmother of the late Keith David Hendrix, Douglas Hendrix, William (Alexis Marrin) Hendrix, Katherine (Jack Kenny) Hendrix, Jennifer (William) Cote, Jessica (Ricky) Noiseux, Erica Ross, Emily Ross, and Benjamin Piotrowski.  She was the great-grandmother of Chase, Hadley, Charli, and Parker.  She was the sister of David (Sharon Gallagher) Rogers, Elaine (Glenn) Tuneski and the late Roberta (Richard) Goodin.  She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Christine, Thomas, Daniel, Paul, Melissa, Alison, Benjamin, Laura, and Shannon.

Judith worked in the guidance office at East Hampton High School and was later employed at Aetna Life Insurance Company before retiring.   She enjoyed country line dancing, golf, UConn women’s basketball, playing cards, bocce, knitting, and spending time with family and friends.  She was also involved with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Rocky Hill, CT.

Her funeral services will be held at a later date.
