Julia Araujo

Julia (De Melo Da Costa) Araujo, 87, of Bristol, passed away on November 22, 2025, at Grace Barker Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Rui Araujo.

Born in Flores, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Jaime and Maria C. (Melo) Costa. She is survived by her son: Rui Araujo of Rehoboth and daughter-in-law Jami Araujo; granddaughters: Kelsey, Hannah, and Angelina; many nieces and nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Julia Maria Araujo. She was the last surviving sibling of nine.

Mrs. Araujo was educated in Portugal. She was employed by Robin Rug for 35 years before retiring. Julia was responsible for sponsoring many families from the Açores to live their American dream. She was always happiest surrounded by her granddaughters, family, and friends

Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 8:30 – 9:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
