Lenna N. (Jones) Venzen, 89, of Bristol, passed away on March 8, 2025, at home. She was the wife of the late Rupert Venzen.

Mrs. Venzen was educated in Antigua. She worked for the late Dr. Peter Curreri and his family for 45 years. The name Lenna has its roots in Germany. Lenna means “Lion strength, lion strong, lion hearted”.

Lenna often told stories about how passionate she was about her name being spelled right and pronounced correctly. She said when she was a youngster in school, she would tell everybody in class or on the playground “my name is Len -nah, not Lena.” She embraced life with the same passion and determination. 

She will be remembered fondly for her love of shopping for clothes or groceries. It’s a passion that brought joy and excitement to her. The jingle “don’t you just love a bargain” should have been coined for her. She never spent a bad cent and never wanted to lose one either. 

Lenna loved to travel and would jump at the opportunity to go and visit a new place somewhere different in the world. She enjoyed traveling to new places to visit friends and family. 

Fashion! She wore everything well. Be it dresses or pants or as she would say “trousers”, “frocks”, or skirts. She loved her shapely body and was not afraid to express it verbally. Lenna had a strong love of family whether there was DNA to match or not. She was amongst the youngest of her siblings, however many would consider her a true matriarch. She truly lived up to the name of “lionhearted”. She will be missed by many and all who knew her and loved her.

Born in Antigua, she was the daughter of Edwin and Marjorie (Martin) Jones. She is survived by her son: Trevor (Esther) Samuel of Bristol; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces: Rosa Jones, Wynant Ryan Jones, Rosey Jones, Joycelyn Lake, Valerie Jones Bloomfield, Agatha Jones, Noelene Jones, Velma Jones James, Gweneth Whittiker Jones, Jennefer and Joan Jones of England, Clementine Daly Jones, Jennefer Daly Jones, Suzanne Jones, and Shelly Ann Jones; nephews: Charlswort Davis, Fitzroy Jones, Evans Jones, Dale Jones, Cartwright Jones, John Jones, Franklin Jones of England, Hillary Jones, Sylvan Jones, Joseph Jones, Jr., Cyril Farnic Jones, Jeff Jones, Clem Jones, and Tony Jones; her brother Edwin Billy Jones of England, UK; her sisters Julia Jones of Canada and Gertrude Jones of Texas; the family of the late Dr. Peter Curreri and his wife Lisa Curreri, and their children: Ellen Curreri, Christopher Curreri, and Alexis Curreri; and her good friend Jeffine Thomas.

She was predeceased by her brothers: Morris Jones, Leo Edwin Jones, Joseph Edwin Jones, Lethrobe Jones, and Sylvanus Jones; and sisters: Violet Jones Daniels, Maude Jones, Cicely Jones, and Mary Jones.

Friends and family are invited to attend Lenna's memorial services on Saturday, March 29, 12 – 2:30 PM at the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street.
