Leon Marshall McCaw, 70, passed away on November 2, 2025. He was the loving husband of Robin S. (Clopper) McCaw and father of Rachel B. McCaw-Navin.
Lee was born in Providence to the late Captain William C. McCaw and Virginia F. Marshall McCaw. In addition to his wife, Lee is survived by his daughter Rachel B. McCaw-Navin, her husband Paul Navin and their beautiful son Bennett Marshall Navin of Riverside, and his sisters, Sohi M. McCaw of Portland Or., Jean B. McCaw and her husband Kenneth C. Herbert of Chantilly Va. and nephews Alex W. Bishop, Luke G. Bishop and Graham M. Bishop.
Lee received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and received his master’s degree from Bryant University. He had a long career in sales management for over 35 years as a Senior Success Manager.
Lee was very devoted to his family and was passionate about sailing. He was an active member of the Bristol Yacht Club for many years and spent summers sailing on his beloved Elixir with Robin, Rachel, family and friends. He was a gifted sailor, and his passion was contagious. Lee also deeply loved excellent sound systems and playing the drums. He was an accomplished cook and enjoyed preparing meals for his family and friends. He adored his golden retrievers, Cassie and Chelsea, and was often seen walking them along Walkers Cove and the Bristol coastline.
Lee will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, the memories we shared sailing in Narragansett Bay and beyond, and his warm, loving and generous nature. He will be greatly missed but will always be in our hearts.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life in Lee’s memory, date to be announced.
