M. Helen (Costa) Amaral

M. Helen (Costa) Amaral, 94, of King Philip Avenue passed away on January 9, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Manor. She was the wife of the late Anthony Amaral.  

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria Joaquina (Silva) daCosta. She is survived by her sons: Anthony Amaral Jr and his wife Sheila of East Providence; Joseph Amaral and his wife Donna of Warren; grandchildren: Anthony Amaral III, Jillian Amaral, Daniel Amaral, Patrice Amaral and great grandchildren: Romeo Ragusa, Arielle Amaral, Preston DeSouza, Mason DeSouza, Weston Amaral and Rhea Amaral.  She was the sister of the late Adelaide Mattos.

Mrs. Amaral was a graduate of East Providence High School and employed as the receptionist at St. Francis Xavier Church in East Providence as well as the former Metacom Manor before retiring.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality.

Her funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16th, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church,577 Wood Street with a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
