Manuel Alves Brum, 84 of Manchester Street passed away on September 13, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Leopoldina (Leal) Brum. He will be buried one day before their 55th wedding anniversary.
Born in Capelo, Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was son of the late Jose and Maria Madeline (Alves) Brum. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Tony Brum and his wife Chanda of Bristol; and grandchildren Emilia Brum, Gabriel Brum and Kaleb Brum. He was the brother of Maria Teresa Sousa and the late Jose Brum, Antonio Brum, Francisco Brum, Isauro Brum, Maria Olympia Brum, Maria Madelina Moitoso and Maria Teresa Sousa.
Mr. Brum was educated in Portugal and employed by Pearson Yachts for 25 years. He then went to work for Sunfish Laser where he made daggerboards.
His funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
